Stark State College, City of Akron announce new location for CDL training
(Akron, OH – July 23, 2019) – Stark State College and the City of Akron are announcing a new location for the College’s commercial driver’s license (CDL) training facility. The new location at 2270 Picton Parkway, is in a Joint Economic Development District with the City of Akron and Springfield Township.

FirstEnergy Partners with Stark State College and The University of Akron to Offer On-Site Higher Learning for Customer Service Employees
(Akron, OH – Oct. 29, 2019) – Akron, Ohio – FirstEnergy Corp. has developed a new education program in conjunction with Stark State College and The University of Akron (UA) where instructors from both educational institutions will teach on-site at company facilities in the Akron area. Known as “Educate to Elevate,” the program is designed to assist FirstEnergy’s local customer service employees in pursuing associate and bachelor’s degrees.
