Learn a range of techniques in Stark State College’s welding technology certificate program. You’ll have plenty of hands-on learning opportunities at our state-of-the-art Welding and Joining Centers in North Canton and Akron, where you’ll hone your welding skills on various metals using the latest welding equipment. Learn from certified welding instructors who are aligned with the American Welding Society (AWS). Choose from a range of stackable certificate options designed to help you prepare for AWS certifications.
Program details
This certificate in welding technology covers all mainstream types of welding and layout – from the basics to nuclear and pressure vessel welding. You can choose this program to prepare for AWS certifications, including 3G and 6G testing. We also cover specialty welding, such as titanium, stainless steel and aluminum.
Gain hands-on instruction and core skills for:
- Steel and aluminum welding and fabricating
- Preparing/cutting/joining similar and dissimilar metals by welding using gas or electrical processes
- Oxygen/acetylene and AC/DC electric and other processes
- Safe working procedures/habits while using welding and sheet metal forming
- Arc, MIG and TIG welding equipment in horizontal, vertical and overhead positions
- Gas welding and cutting
