Stark State College’s main campus consists of 612,737 square feet across 13 buildings. Our satellite centers and off-campus locations provide an additional 246,425 square feet of educational and office space. Physical plant offices are located in the Business building – room B122.

Physical plant service areas

Maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, interior environment and building automation control, along with day shift custodial services.

Provide cleaning services for our main facility and select satellite centers, recycling (paper and plastics), equipment and furniture moves* and set up for campus events.*

Exterior maintenance

Painting sheds, poles and posts, maintaining and updating exterior signage, way finding, lighting as needed and cleaning rooftops.

Landscaping

Total installation of landscapes for new buildings, updating older landscapes as needed, installing and maintaining retaining walls and paver patios, yearly flower planting and upkeep, edging, mulching, pruning and landscaping of all beds, installing rain gardens as needed, lawn installs and reseeding, fertilization and aeration along with total weed control and mowing.

Transportation

Vehicle and small equipment cleaning, detailing, repairs and maintenance and total snow removal.

Oversee new construction and renovation projects from inception to completion; coordinate interior signage and furniture installations as well as faculty/staff move-ins at the conclusion of projects; modernize existing spaces as needed with new carpet, paint, finishes, etc.; revise interior signage and way-finding as necessary; manage room changes including collaborating with various construction trades to accommodate requests.
