The committee will make every effort to accommodate your preference of presentation type. However, we have limited spots for oral presentations. Selected students may be asked to present in their second choice format.

Abstract(Required)

An abstract is a one-paragraph summary of a project and should not exceed 100-200 words limit. An abstract allows readers to quickly grasp the purpose and major ideas of the work that will be presented. Before submitting your abstract, always proofread your writing and ask your advisor for feedback. Your project advisor is required to review your abstract before you submit it. The classrooms hosting oral presentations will have a PC computer connected to a projector, audio speakers, and access to the internet. Presenters are encouraged to bring a back-up copy of their presentation files on a USB drive and/or upload them to cloud storage.

Most presentations must be limited to 20 minutes. Requests for additional time may be approved by the Symposium Committee only for performances and demonstrations. Tables will be provided for poster presentations. Posters must be tri-fold unless participants bring an easel to display another format.

Tri-fold boards are available upon request. Please email studentsymposium@starkstate.edu to request.
