General Education Mobile (GEM) is Stark State College’s online general education program, created specifically to support active‑duty service members wherever duty takes them. Through our partnership with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), GEM delivers accredited coursework that fits military schedules and meets CCAF requirements.
All GEM courses are 100% online, regionally accredited, and approved to satisfy CCAF associate of science degree general education guidelines—so you can progress toward your degree without pausing your service or relocating.

Admissions process
You’re a transient student because you’re currently attending CCAF and want to enroll at Stark State College and then return to your institution.
Complete the ‘Guest-transient student’ application online.
To register for courses, you’ll need to provide a letter from your CCAF advisor stating that you are in good standing along with the name of the approved courses to be taken at Stark State College. The transferability of course(s) taken at Stark State is the prerogative of the accepting institution. Send to:
