In order to offer students outside the state of Ohio the opportunity to take classes at Stark State College, we must adhere to regulations in each state that govern the delivery of online classes.
The state of Ohio is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), which is an agreement that establishes common standards for states offering online classes to students in other states. As a SARA participant, Stark State College is now able to offer online degrees and certificates to students in SARA member states without having to seek approval from those states. Please click this link to see if your state is a member of SARA. If it’s a member, you may apply to Stark State College and participate in one of our online degrees or certificates!
In addition to the states who are members of SARA, we currently have approval to accept students from the following non-SARA states:
- New Jersey
- North Carolina*
- South Carolina
Due to possible regulation changes, this list is subject to change without notice. If you don’t see your state, please contact us for more information.
* Programs with internships are not authorized.
