Stark State College names new director of marketing and public relations

(North Canton, OH – March 28, 2024) – Collyn Floyd has been named the new director of marketing and public relations at Stark State College, effective April 1.

Collyn FloydFloyd brings 20 years of marketing and public relations experience to Stark State. Most recently, she served as vice president of events and marketing strategy for the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, overseeing 70 events annually. This included the planning and execution of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival, which draws 700,000 people to the area each summer. During her 10-year tenure at the Chamber, Floyd held several positions, including vice president of marketing and communications and director of marketing and communications. Prior to joining the Chamber, she spent eight years at TKG as a content strategist and two years at the University of Mount Union.

Floyd is a graduate of the 29th Class of Leadership Stark County and currently serves on the Aultman Women’s Board and Stark Library Foundation Board. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. She lives in North Canton with her husband, Shawn, and three boys.
