You will receive an email of verification of eligibility through your Stark State email. Please direct all background questions to the security office.
To apply you must meet the following requirements:
- 2.0 GPA from your most recent educational facility
- Successfully pass reading for critical analysis (IDS 102) or a score of 246 or higher on the ACCUPLACER test
- A medical release from your physician may be required before you start the program if you have a medical condition that might interfere with your ability to draw blood
According to various sections of the Ohio Law and Regulations for Certification and Licensure Boards, persons convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor may not be accepted into a health program at Stark State College; may not be able to take the licensure or certification examinations; may be refused acceptance of placement by the clinical/practicum sites; or may have restrictions placed on their ability to practice.

Through the National Healthcare Association (NHA): In order to sit for the exam, candidates must meet eligibility requirements that include a combination of classroom instruction and clinical components. The exam is administered on a computer, and can be taken at any time for an application fee of $125.
The estimated total expenses for the Introduction to Phlebotomy (single course) will be approximately $905.80 and the certificate in Phlebotomy will be $3,435.60.
