Student Leadership Academy is a free leadership program offered jointly by Kent State University at Stark and Stark State College. The academy helps you discover your strengths while building real-world skills employers value.

You’ll gain critical skills employers are looking for: leadership, communication, goal setting, networking, professionalism, collaboration and teamwork.

If you want to build your resume, enhance your online professional presence and meet new people, Student Leadership Academy gives you the tools to stand out. No previous leadership experience required.

Volunteers needed! Make a difference while giving back to those who served. Join fellow students and community members for a hands-on volunteer experience focused on supporting veterans in our community. Help us create a display honoring veterans with flag planting on the Kent State and Stark State campuses. Itโ€™s a meaningful opportunity to serve others, build connections and show appreciation through action. Volunteers will meet at the flagpole circle in front of Kent State Stark.

How to earn a certificate

  • Complete four sessions to receive a certificate.
  • You choose the sessions you want to attend via Zoom, Handshake, Skills to Succeed or in person.
  • Any combination of in-person sessions or special session offerings will be accepted.
  • A completion certificate will be emailed to you.
