General Education Mobile (GEM) is Stark State College’s online general education program, created specifically to support active‑duty service members wherever duty takes them. Through our partnership with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), GEM delivers accredited coursework that fits military schedules and meets CCAF requirements.

All GEM courses are 100% online, regionally accredited, and approved to satisfy CCAF associate of science degree general education guidelines—so you can progress toward your degree without pausing your service or relocating.

The General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program is a two-year associate degree automotive program designed for students seeking a career as a technician at a GM dealership or at an approved ACDelco service facility. This curriculum is designed to be GM-specific and is accredited by NATEF in all eight ASE certification areas.

The Honda PACT certificate is designed exclusively for the student who is seeking a career as a service technician at a Honda/Acura dealership. The Honda PACT curriculum combines Stark State College NATEF accredited automotive classes and Honda-specific curriculum that is produced by American Honda Motor Company, Inc. The Honda-specific classes provide Honda’s core certification modules that are needed for advancement at a Honda/Acura dealership.

With a degree in human and social services, you can help others in many different service areas – family advocacy, nursing homes, crisis intervention, addiction, children’s issues, criminal justice and more. It also can be the first step to pursing a bachelor’s degree program to become a social worker.

This program prepares you to take the state exam to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II, giving you a direct pathway into the field. And if you choose to continue your education, your coursework can lead to a bachelor’s degree program in social work.

With a community corrections degree from Stark State, you’ll be trained to work in the corrections field as a correctional officer or work in a correctional facility such as a halfway house or rehabilitation facility.

Stark State College’s human and social services gerontology major offers you knowledge and understanding of the normal but highly variable process of aging and implementing programs and services for the elderly. Prepare to enter the workforce with courses and training related to community resources, human behavior, interviewing skills, cultural sensitivity and ethical awareness with a focus on gerontology.
