NORTH CANTON, Ohio, December 3, 2025 – The Stark State College Foundation recently named Chief Adam J. Gladysz as the College’s 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame Recipient.
Gladysz is a dedicated fire service leader whose career began immediately after graduating from Louisville High School in 2008 and completing Stark State College’s fire science Tech Prep program. He earned his state of Ohio EMT-B and Firefighter II certifications, followed by National Registry Paramedic certification in 2010. Gladysz has served multiple communities across Stark County as a firefighter/paramedic, continually advancing his knowledge through specialized training in technical rescue, EMS and fire service leadership.
In 2017, Gladysz became an instructor at Stark State and later served as an EMS coordinator for Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he acted as a liaison between local departments, physicians and hospital leadership. He has actively contributed to Safe Communities Stark County and led numerous CPR and Stop the Bleed trainings for schools and community groups. Gladysz is a proud member of the Stark County Special Operations Response Team, Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, Stark County Fire Chiefs Association and Jackson Township Professional Firefighters Local 2280.
Gladysz was named Jackson Township’s Firefighter of the Year in 2022. In 2025, he and his crew received the EMS Care Provider of the Year award from the Stark County Firefighters Association, following a nomination by Aultman Hospital. After 14 years of dedicated service to Nimishillen Township, he was appointed fire chief in 2024. He also serves full time as a captain with the Jackson Township Fire Department.
Gladysz and his wife have been married since 2011 and reside in Canton with their five children.
