April 21 deadline for next Stark State College law enforcement academy

(North Canton, OH – April 12, 2023) – Stark State College is accepting applications until April 21 for its next law enforcement academy, which runs June 5 – Dec. 10.

Classes in this academy are scheduled for Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am-1:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8-5 pm. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

The intensive program, operated in cooperation with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, prepares participants to pursue one of many careers in law enforcement, including municipal, township or village police officer; deputy sheriff; state wildlife officer and other law enforcement positions.

All instructors are certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.

Graduates of the academy program are eligible to take the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Certification examination.

(North Canton, OH – March 8, 2023) – Prospective students are invited to Stark State College to learn how to spend less to be prepared for an in-demand career or make the first two years of a bachelor’s degree more affordable. Open houses are set for 5-7 p.m. on March 23 at Stark State Akron, 360 Perkins St. and March 30 at main campus, 6200 Frank Ave. NW, North Canton.
